Dreamwidth has moved into Open Beta, and that's fantastic. To celebrate, we're getting our fic on.

STEP ONE: Comment with a Joss-verse series pairing or character (can be RPF or crossover if you want) and a prompt (such as an idea, a kink, lyrics, an image, whatever.) Make sure and mention if you DON'T want NSFW content.

STEP TWO: Read through the comments, find a prompt which appeals to you, and write 100 words or more for it. Try and do unfilled prompts before filled ones!

STEP THREE: Read through other people's commentfic and leave reviews! Link your friends to this post! Invite people to Dreamwidth!

Hey! So! Welcome to the community! Your mods are currently amber and jeeps, both long-time Whedon fans who know his shows backwards. I'm really happy to see so many people joining.

Please, introduce yourself — yeah, even you guys with the OpenID accounts! This can be a bit like one of those friending memes, if you want. Just copy and paste the (very basic) code in the box and comment answering the questions!

I'm also working out a layout: who would we like to see in the header? Joss himself? A selection of the sexy young leads from his various shows? Eliza Dushku looking sexy? If no-one answers it will end up being that last one, just so's you know.

We're thinking of having weekly discussion posts for the new Dollhouse eps if you're all down with that, even if it turns out to only be for, sob, another three episodes. Seriously, I cannot believe they're so close to cancelling it. If you're reading this going "ewwww Dollhouse", Tiger Beatdown has a really good post on why it's a fab show.

There might also be a Whedonverse Comment-Fic-Request-Post here at some point once Dreamwidth hits Open Beta. Is there anything else you guys would like to see happening? Or that you'd like to contribute? Obviously we're fine with people posting fic and icons and con news here, though if it gets too prolific we'll start moderating posts and write up a more official set of posting rules. For now, we want to make this a cool place to hang and talk with fellow fans, with minimal friends-list spam.

Oh, and if you haven't already, you might want to add whedonesque_feed. It's awesome and it'll keep you up to date with all things Joss. (I'm especially looking forward to the horror movie spoof starring Amber Benson about a killer penis.)
